Any kind of inversion is super for children. I often ask the children to show me the candles on the birthday cake (another moving yoga pose) for someone whose birthday is forthcoming. The children lie on thier backs and take their legs up in the air. I then go to each child with my imaginary match and light their toes. The children must blow the candle out before it melts into the cake. So they bring their little toes to their little mouths and breathe in deeply through their nose and then blow out their mouth onto thier toes. This exercise not only encourages the children to breathe deeply into their lungs but it also lets gravity support the body and stimulates the lymphatic system and strengthens the immune system by maintaining the proper balance of fluids, lymph and blood.
