Our Ethos

Children doing Yoga Bananas Class

'I had very high hopes from Yoga Bananas and I can honestly say that Skip's course both met my expectations and went beyond them.'

Julia Nolan

Yoga Bananas Graduate

We’ve been a practising children's yoga training school since 1998 with a strong ethos. The cornerstone of our training is to empower you to empower the children you know through a creative exploration of the full pantheon of the Hatha yoga tradition.

The Yoga Bananas® Children's Yoga Teacher Training Course has one aim - to make a valuable contribution to the well-being and future of society, helping children and their mentors live a meaningful life whilst laying down a long-term blueprint of mental and physical health. Along the way we aim to open in those we train and then those they go on to teach an awareness of their gifts, strengths and potentialities and a deep connection with the inner child.

With its focus on embracing the present moment, the Yoga Bananas® Technique enhances the self-worth of children and adults alike and boosts confidence. To support this, we encourage our graduates to praise children whenever they can. Children who are made to feel secure within themselves whatever is going on around them can more fully enjoy a positive existence despite their limited influence in the world.

The Yoga Bananas® Children's Yoga Teacher Training Course is for those who would like to train in small groups. It includes over 170 original techniques and a unique structure that makes teaching fun and easy. The training opens your eyes to the marriage of narrative and movement and the absorbing effects of rhythm and rhyme and it is our aim that you leave us bursting at the seams with creativity and fully confident to go straight out and teach.

The Yoga Bananas® Children's Yoga Teacher Training Course offers a comprehensive and innovative system of teaching children's yoga and our manuals have been formatted to cover all aspects of the Hatha yoga tradition and equip you with everything you need to become a creative tour de force in the world of children's yoga. But it will be your own experience of teaching children, most of all, that will guide you to a deeper understanding of children’s needs and an understanding of the equality and respect that children and their mentors/parents should exercise towards each other. Your commitment and willingness to view life through the eyes of a child and foster a nurturing environment full of praise will secure you this understanding. It will make parents and mentors aware of the wonderful benefits of yoga irrespective of age and experience. If all the above resonates with you then we can have a great deal of fun together, embracing the energy and soul of yoga.
