Feed The Good Memory Bank

From an early age we need to teach our children that satisfaction in life arises from our understanding of why we feel unsatisfied when we do. Life is abound with experiences that bring joy and struggle. Children can be taught that toys and sweets or the latest gadget, for example, bring only short-lived pleasure to counteract that struggle and that good memories of being with friends and family or immersed in the story of a well-written book are what give them sustained happiness and freedom from their distress.
